Cueto Inks the Big Deal

Johnny Cueto and the San Francisco Giants have come to terms on a deal that will be worth $130 million over six years.

Cueto is one of the big free agent starters that led the Kansas City Royals to back-to-back World Series appearances with one championship.  Many teams were pursuing Cueto, all-willing to pay a high amount.  Cueto finished this year with a 3.44 ERA with is what makes him such a high target teams tried to peruse this off-season.

The Giants rotation is a filthy one now, with Madison Bumgarner at the top of the rotation, then to Cueto, then to Jeff Samardzija – another free agent pickup – and finally ending up with Jake Peavy, and Matt Cain.  This is probably one of the top three rotations in baseball this upcoming year, and a team in the National League West that have a set goal, to get back to the World Series.
