NJ Drops Another One to Carolina

Victor Rask scored twice and the Carolina Hurricanes beat the New Jersey Devils 3-2 in Raleigh.

Cam Ward made 23 saves for the Hurricanes who have earned points in 10 of their past twelve games.

Rask, reached the 20-goal mark for the first time as the Devils lost their second straight game.

Carolina jumped out to a 2-0 lead early.  Skating 4-on-4, Jordan Staal controlled the puck on the right wing before finding Ron Hainsey pinching in from the left point for his fifth goal of the season at 9:10.

The Hurricanes scored on a 4-on-3 power play moments later. Rask took a pass from Elias Lindholm and beat Scott Wedgewood with a wrist shot past the blocker at 9:46.


The Hurricanes outshot the Devils 14-3 in the period.
